The North Bay Public Library Children’s Department will be hosting Junior Book Club with Frontier College on Wednesday evenings starting Tuesday, October 22nd from 6 – 7 p.m. in the Children’s Storyroom. Children ages 6-12 are invited to explore different themes through games, activities and stories with Frontier College tutors.
When: Tuesday evenings, October 22 through to December 3, 2019
Time: 6 – 7 p.m.
Where: In the Children’s Storyroom
The program is free and the fun is guaranteed. Junior Book Club is a great way for kids to learn about diverse subjects of interest in a hands-on way. Each weekly session introduces a new theme for kids and volunteers to explore (anything from volcanos and earthquakes to family pets). Theme pack kits include books (fiction and non-fiction, storybooks, chapter books, graphic novels, and more) and games, crafts, activity or experiment, and a variety of activity sheets. The materials included in each kit are all variations of the same theme, and participants are encouraged to do a bit of reading and writing each week by exploring the themes from their own perspective.
Registration is required and will begin on Monday, September 23 at 9:30 a.m., either by phone (705) 474-4830 or in person at the Children’s Desk. Registration is limited.
